WELCOME TO THE WINTER FRAUD INSTITUTE!

Online learning can be an incredibly rewarding and exciting adventure. It provides flexibility and an opportunity for students who might not otherwise be able to take advantage of a college curriculum; however, you should be aware that self-discipline, self-motivation, and attention to detail are required to complete the course successfully in this format. Students must be committed to meeting deadlines for reading and homework assignments. There are weekly due dates – please do not fall behind as it is very hard to catch up.  It is the student’s responsibility to log onto the site often enough to remain abreast of what is going on in the course.

GETTING STARTED – click on the underlined links below

·         Please start by listening to my thoughts on what will make this a successful quarter for you, then watch this short introductory video on how this course is designed (please note, this refers to the summer fraud institute; however, the winter fraud institute is set up in the same way), and finally - read the syllabus.  Be sure to read all sections of the syllabus, and email me if you have any questions about what is expected of you this quarter.

·         If you are new to ANGEL (or would just like a refresher), please view these short tutorials on how to send email in ANGEL, how to post to the discussion room, how to submit homework to the drop-box, and how to take a quiz/exam.  The videos are sometimes bigger than the screen, so you may need to scroll up or down to see the part of the screen that I’m referring to.  Additionally, here is a printable guide which walks you through the sign in process to fully navigating the course.  When you log in to ANGEL you will also see a ‘START HERE’ module which will help you make sure that your computer is configured correctly and will clarify any questions you may have on how to use ANGEL.
